Kiosk mode turns a device into a dedicated full-screen register — cashiers sign in with their own user PIN.
Opening the Register
- From the device landing page, tap Open Register
- You'll see the PIN pad — enter your user PIN to sign in
- The register opens with your name as the cashier
- In the Saflio Android app, Register opens inside the app — same origin as the app, no system browser, and the phone registers as its own device you can name and enroll.
User PINs
- Each team member has a 4–6 digit PIN set by a company admin (Companies → Team → Set PIN)
- PINs are unique per user — no two people share one
- Your PIN is your identity: it stamps your name on every order and receipt
Locking the Screen
When your shift ends, tap the Lock button on the register top bar. The screen returns to the PIN pad — the next cashier signs in with their own PIN. This keeps every sale attributed to the right person.
- If the same cashier unlocks (a quick lock or the screensaver), the cart and any in-progress sale are kept exactly as they were.
- If a different cashier unlocks, the previous basket is cleared automatically and a message confirms it — so nobody charges the wrong customer's items.
- Locking ends the session — the register asks for a PIN again before the next sale, even after a reload.
Locking Itself After Inactivity
If nobody touches the register for 10 minutes it locks itself and asks for a PIN again. Your shift stays open, so the hours keep counting — only locking for the day closes the shift.
- The screen locks after 10 minutes without a tap, key or scan — enter your PIN to carry on exactly where you left off.
- Hours run from your first PIN of the day until you lock the register for the day. A quiet spell never breaks the shift.
Fingerprint Unlock
- The fingerprint button only appears when exactly one team member has biometrics enrolled on this register. With two or more enrolled, the register asks for a PIN instead — so a sale is never attributed to the wrong cashier.
Works Offline
The register keeps working even if the internet goes down. Sales are stored on the device and sync automatically when the connection returns. Your user directory is cached on the device, so PIN login works offline too.
🔒 Forgot your PIN? Ask a company admin to reset it in Companies → Team → Set PIN. PINs can't be recovered — they're stored securely and only shown when set.
💡 A product that isn't on the kiosk grid usually has a barcode. Barcoded products are sold through the search box or a scan, so they don't get a tile — only Sell-by-Weight and Sell-by-Piece items appear on the grid.
