Stocking is how goods come in: Restock for what you already sell, Requests for what customers have asked for.
Two sub-tabs
- Restock โ purchase orders and receiving for products already in your catalogue
- Requests โ items customers asked for. Owner-only, enforced on the server.
Recording a request
- Press Add request and type the item name โ that's the only required field
- A barcode is optional: most requested goods have none, so the field never blocks you
- Track it as Open โ Ordered โ Stocked, or Dismiss it if you decide not to carry it
Moving a request into Products
- When you actually buy it, press Move to Products โ the item is added to your catalogue and linked to the request
- A new product starts unpublished with no price. Set the price in Products and it becomes active and sellable.
- The request keeps its history after the move, so you can always see why an item is stocked
๐ก Requests are Owner-only and enforced on the server โ a Manager or Inventory user cannot read, add, or move them, even through the API. Restock stays available to Manager and Inventory roles.
