🖥️ Windows register PC (fullscreen setup)

Run your register on a Windows PC in fullscreen — boots straight into the register, with the customer display on a second monitor.

Before you start

• A Windows 10 or 11 PC with Microsoft Edge installed
• A registered device (Devices → add your device ID) on a Business or Enterprise plan
• Your device register URL from Devices or the device landing page — it looks like https://<device-id>.saflio.app/kiosk
• Optional: a second monitor for the customer display

Create the fullscreen shortcut

Create a Windows shortcut with this target, replacing the URL with your device's register URL. Use --start-fullscreen, not --kiosk: Edge kiosk mode is a single-window lockdown and loads the customer display inside the register tab instead of opening it on the second monitor.

Keep --user-data-dir the same every time — that folder stores the device enrollment and login, so staff only sign in once.

One-time permissions

• In Edge open edge://settings/content/popups → Allow, and add your device URL.
• Open the register and tap the Customer button — when Edge asks to use your displays, click Allow. This enables automatic placement on monitor 2 and auto-open at boot.

Start automatically at boot

• Press Win+R, type shell:startup and press Enter.
• Save a file named SaflioPOS.bat in that folder with the content below — the register opens fullscreen every time the PC starts.

• Optional, for a PC that powers on with no login screen: run netplwiz, uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password", and pick the kiosk user.

Customer display on a second monitor

With two monitors connected and the display permission allowed, the customer display opens automatically on monitor 2 when the register loads.

If it does not open automatically, tap the Customer button once — the window opens on monitor 2 and goes fullscreen.

Troubleshooting

• Customer page opens inside the register tab → the shortcut is still using --kiosk; switch to --start-fullscreen.
• Register is not fullscreen after a reboot → check the .bat file is in shell:startup, and enable netplwiz auto-login if the PC sits at a login screen.
• Customer window will not open → allow popups for the device URL, and confirm the device is on a Business or Enterprise plan with the customer display enabled in Settings.
